Andre is a humanistic photographer and visual journalist.
He has lived in Yangon, Burma since early 2013, and is involved in documenting many aspects of the unique country and its peoples. From life and changes along the iconic Irrawaddy River, to the entrapment of the Rohingya people in Rakhine state and the beauty of everyday life, Andre is working to bring issues to light over the long term, creating in-depth projects that seek to expand the visual dialogue emerging from Southeast Asia . His work has been published in: Time.com, Al Jazeera, Foreign Policy, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Global Post, Pro Photographer Magazine, Focus Asean, Chronicle of Higher Education and Myanmar Times, among others. He has also worked with NGOs such as Médecins Sans Frontières and WORTH. His Instagram work has been featured on Time Lightbox, and The New York Times Lens and the New Yorker Photo Instagram feed via Everyday Asia.
Andre is a graduate of the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography program at the International Center of Photography in New York City, a participant at the 25th Eddie Adams Workshop in 2012, and a full scholarship recipient of the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop in 2014.
