Born and raised in Costa Rica, I am a lover of the world, of the different forms of thinking, representing, and being. It is a cumbersome endeavor to reduce to sentences one’s life’s pursuit as there is movement, change, and growth but I’ve kept gravitating to the same search independently of the different fields I’ve undertaken. I’ve come to believe my deepest interest relies within the realm of story telling: people’s stories in relation to others, in relation to space, to the world, to nature, to the sacred and meaning, to art, objects, and to emotions and concepts we cannot grasp properly but nonetheless shape the world like love and violence and life and death. Through architecture, I acquired the lens of spatiality, which later encountered new fertile grounds while studying critical theory and visual studies. I found the essential core that is humanity studied through this interdisciplinary framework.
