About Angie Holm

Angela Holm is a fine art photographer inspired by the impossible, effervescent, yet endless human need to “duplicate” what we see. Light being the fundamental source of all life on earth and the only way to make photographic images, becomes the catalyst question behind her work. Attempting to simplify or complicate the process of photography itself, she freely experiments with the entire range of photographic techniques, historic or new, as tools to explore the mystery behind image capture. Joyfully accepting the aura of the unexpected that can happen through optical mechanics, she explores the interplay of light on the natural elements. Her former career as a producer of silent film restorations lends an interest in decayed and discarded film as subject matter of her images.
