This is a wonderful, insightful, candid interview — rich with photographic insights, humanity and compassion. French photographer Alain Laboile is a self-taught master of intimate photography, focusing on his own family. He photographs the freedoms of childhood among six siblings “at the edge of the world” in rural France.

We express our gratitude to Alain Laboile and his family for their generosity, wisdom, joy and hospitality.
