— Nicolas Joriot
Réalisée pendant 6 semaines hivernales
du début de l’année 2006.
************
To leave Istanbul and to return to Istanbul.
To encircle the Black Sea slowly to see its changing waters and shores.
To wander along its coastlines — Bulgarian, Rumanian, Moldavian,
Ukrainian, Georgian and finally Turkish.
After the excitement of summer, the beaches fall asleep in a jewel case
of sadness under a gray and troubled sky.
Dull plains, landscapes deserted by men on the move, leaving only delicate
traces of an almost imaginary season.
— Nicolas Joriot
Realized during six weeks of winter at the beginning of the year 2006.

Dead Season on the Edges of the Black Sea
French photographer Anna Puig Rosado decided to follow the coast line of the Black Sea through all of the countries that border it. She had no guide, no timeline, no plans for lodgings — just a backpack, a camera and lots of color film. Here is her poetic visual report.
