We first discovered this work after it was submitted to the Earth Awards 2015. Although it was not chosen as a finalist by the jury, the editors of LensCulture were impressed and decided to publish this feature article about it. Enjoy!

Changing your perspective can reveal previously overlooked details. For example: by photographing the landscape from thousands of feet above the Earth, I reveal the grace and strange beauty in natural aberrations.

My recent work provides intimate glimpses of the Earth’s palette in remote parts of Northern Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, and Iceland. My photographs examine the variety of colors, shapes, and textures of the natural landscape.

I am also interested in exploring photography’s shifting relationship to painting and sculpture. My focus is on capturing the dream-like point at which reality becomes abstraction. Creating one-of-a-kind large-scale photographs, I immortalize the hidden beauty in these otherworldly landscapes.
