Hajdu Tamás is a Romanian photographer whose love and insight into the animal world transpires through his photos. But there is a secret behind Tamás’ proximity to his subjects: Tamás is half-photographer and half-veterinary doctor.

Tamás’ inspirations are various: some of the photos are carefully, creatively staged with patients or familiar friends. Others are spontaneous snapshots, the result of chance encounters with stray animals. What they all have in common is a certain affectionate humor, reflected in the pictures themselves and even in their titles.

Of all Tamás’ photographic projects, this one is the closest to his heart. In each frame, Tamás’ passion is evident. If you never thought to look so closely at your fish, your dog or that bug on the wall, perhaps these portraits will open your eyes a little bit.
