These photos were take during a short visit to Taiwan. These electric power boxes are hard to miss and they seem to be in every street.
Beside the fact that they are hand painted and each of them are different, these are wonderful examples of a long tradition of landscape art. Although quite naive in style and very quickly executed, I found them interesting because of the object they aim to gentrify and because they are glimpses of idealistic representations of unspoiled nature.
The juxtaposition is hard to resist.
