Grants & Awards
If less than 50% of your income from the past three years was from your own photography, then you can enter the D&AD Next Photographer Award for a chance to win a $5,000 grant from Getty Images! There’s no age limit, and you can submit up to five images and any type of photography—whether fashion, advertising, art, portrait or editorial.

Big Picture encourages photographers from around the world to contribute their work to this competition, which aims to celebrate and illustrate the rich diversity of life on Earth and inspire action to protect and conserve it through the power of imagery.
Chaired by award-winning conservation photographer Suzi Eszterhas, this competition welcomes high-quality nature, wildlife and conservation images and is open to all photographers around the world. Enter your nature, wildlife and conservation images for a chance to win cash prizes and be exhibited at the California Academy of Sciences.

The MonoVisions Photography Awards are an international open call for photographers using the black and white medium to express their visual language.
Our aim is to discover the best monochrome photographers from all over the world and deliver the best opportunities to be recognized and rewarded for their work.

The Foam Talent Call is one of the most prestigious international open calls for photographers between the ages of 18 and 35. Over the past decade, the Talent Call has helped launch the careers of numerous talents around the world by giving their work the exposure and recognition it deserves.

The Innovation in Development Reporting Grant Programme (IDR) is a media-funding project operated by the European Journalism Centre (EJC). The grant programme aims to advance creative reporting approaches, thus enabling better coverage of international development issues.
The grant intends to raise awareness about these issues by enabling the production of stories that have a strong impact on media audiences in the following European countries: France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

The “Prix de la Photographie, Paris” (Px3) strives to promote the appreciation of photography, to discover emerging talent, and introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris. A selection of work from this competition is displayed in Paris and the winners are published in the P×3 Annual Book. Juried by leading editors, publishers, curators, gallery owners, consultants, creative directors, and art directors, P×3 brings the best of photography from across the globe to Paris.

Northern Lights Masterclass
Now in its 7th year, the Northern Lights Masterclass sets itself apart with its long-term and in-depth approach to helping working photographers improve all aspects of their creative and business practices for success in today’s challenging marketplace.

Visa pour l’Image
The Visa pour l’Image international photojournalism festival was established in 1989. It takes place every year across the city of Perpignan and is the main and most important festival of photojournalism in France.
As a professional photographer, if you wish to exhibit at the next Visa pour l’Image Festival or have a report screened as part of an evening program, you can submit your work for consideration.

Cortona On the Move: New Visions
LensCulture is proud to collaborate with the excellent photography festival in Cortona, Italy — Cortona On The Move — to discover New Visions. We are seeking documentary works that are conceived with an honest intention and do not fear experimentation.
Deadline: March 31, 2017
This is the leading Croatian institution for promoting and researching contemporary photography. It is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting emerging and established photographers. It is equally committed to creating platforms for knowledge exchange and education as well as showcasing the works of talented contemporary photographers.
The theme of this year’s festival is New Citizens. Artists should interpret the idea of the “New Citizen” as one that goes beyond the conventional understanding of the word “citizen”—limited to the state and the city—and shows us new and fresh meanings of this age-old concept.
