Different seas, different lands by the sea, my seas.
For 20 years, I have lived away from my home country—Sicily. I often get asked the same question: "What do you miss most?" I could answer the food or the weather, but deep down, there is one thing I miss the most: being near the sea.
This series shows my personal journey to the sea in my two homelands, Sicily and England. These photographs represent a collection of my interpretation of memories and experiences of being near the sea. As I question my own idea of homeland, this project gives me a way to think through my own identity.
I decided to leave my images un-captioned as I want the viewers to look at the images and think of their own seas, their own places.
The project continues.
