A self-taught artist based in Chandigarh, Ashima Raizada (b.1994) experiments with diverse artistic mediums. While her photographic and drawing practice emerged out of her curiosity and play with Instagram, her paintings stem from a specific invocation of feminist subjectivity. Ashima has exhibited at Uniqlo Tates Lates, Tate Modern, London (2020) and has been an artist in residence at Piramal Art Residency, Thane (2019). She has received a State Award from Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi, India, (2018) and was awarded the Raghu Rai Scholarship in Multimedia Arts by Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi (2017). She was chosen by Hindustan Times as one of the Top 30 under 30 young achievers in 2018. She currently works as a Photo Editor for Blink.
