Photographer franco-suisse, born in 1978 in Paris, Baptiste Coulon lives and works in Geneva.
Coming from a family of artists and photographers, he develops at a very young age a curiosity and a singular attention to detail that characterizes his work today.
After studying at the School of Cantonal Art in Lausanne, where he obtained an HES diploma in Visual Communication, specializing in Photography, he joined Geneva to pursue a Master's degree in Art and Media at the Haute Ecole d'Art et de Design.
In 2007, he moved as an independent photographer to his studio in Carouge and gradually deviated from commercial mandates to concentrate on his research and personal work.
Several times exposed individually or collectively and subject to various micro-editions self-produced, his work has as main theme the false pretenses. By depriving the reproduced subjects of their first appearance, he organizes a distancing which reveals their potential for abstraction.
