I grew up in Texas on the Gulf Coast. I used sit out by the water and watch storms roll in. The play of light, suddenly and gradually across the land and people during these moments impacted me.
I'm always struck by how subtle differences in the intensity and direction of light can create dramatic differences in how subject matter is presented. As I continue on I'd like to push light to its reasonable limits.
