Beate Sass earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Southern California in 1983 and a Certificate in Physical Therapy from the University of California, San Francisco in 1989. She discovered photography in her mid-forties and became passionate about visual storytelling. As a photographer, she has found it most rewarding to photograph people in their familiar environments and to record their stories. Beate lives in Decatur, Georgia with her family.
