Benjamin Carey is an artist and writer from Newcastle, Australia. Educated at the University of Newcastle and The University of New South Wales College of Fine Art, Benjamin has had multi-disciplinary visual arts exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, London, Copenhagen and Berlin. A versatile writer, Benjamin self- published his first novel at 25 and distributed a thousand copies in the streets of Sydney and Melbourne. He also writes critically in exhibition texts and reviews, including performance reviews at Month of Performance Art – Berlin 2015.
Benjamin relocated to Berlin in 2014. Upcoming works include his ongoing Patyczaki series of pastel paintings, photography published at Capricious magazine, New York, and his new book TOGO, a collection of critical essays and memoirs set between northern Poland, Finland and Berlin.
