This book examines gender and racial politics in Japan. It argues that human rights ideas spread through the laborious learning process led by local community groups. It covers a wide range of issues from military sexual slavery, domestic violence, sexual harassment, reproductive health, child pornography and prostitution, indigenous rights, and foreigners' rights.
