This volume of the Getty Museum's In Focus series explores the photographs of Doris Ulmann. Her images of rural Southern craftspeople were highly influential in her day, but lay forgotten until her "rediscovery" in the early 1970s. Includes, as always in this series, a round table discussion of Ulmann's work by distinguished scholars, critics, and artists.
