I’ve always been a curious person which led me to work nine years as a Forensic and Litigation Consultant where I investigated matters involving white collar fraud. I envisioned myself continually climbing the corporate ranks until I was offered the opportunity to work for six months in Afghanistan investigating terrorist financing. It was during this time that I began to seriously question the forces behind how things came to be in this world and what my impact was. I began to take pictures after this as a way to process and understand the changes I was going through. I realized that this new personal growth was from experiencing another culture, gaining a perspective from within instead of afar. It is with this same curiosity and passion that I approach documentary work, as a way to understand people, society, cultures, and the overall world around me, while focusing on the age old question of nature versus nurture, in a world that is increasingly moving away from nature.
