I am a freelance writer and photographer living in New York City. Writing is my passion as well as my profession, but photography is a close second. Despite traveling around the world, I remain most inspired as a photographer by scenes of street life in my own neighborhood.
As a writer, I am the author of "How Money Got Free," a work of narrative journalism, and I'm currently finishing my first novel. My work has been published by The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone, Fortune and others. I have written deeply about the culture of urban exploration for Outside (published with six of my photos), about Spain during the austerity riots for the Los Angeles Review of Books, and about cultural upheaval for City Journal. I hold an M.S. from Columbia Journalism School and I am represented by CAA.
