I grew up in the South Island of New Zealand loving nature and travel. My interest in landscape photography is inspired by a childhood spent in the South Island, featuring countless week-long trips during the holidays traversing the deep south of Otago and Canterbury, or up the rugged West Coast. Mum would pack the car with endless amounts of Tupperware containers of home baking and club sandwiches, sleeping bags, and suitcases jammed deep into the foot well. It came from looking out the window, watching epic Mountain Ranges, Lakes and Valleys go by while Dad played Phil Coulters, Paul Simon or Dire Straits on the tape deck. There were what felt like endless hours of staring at the white strip on the road to stave off car sickness due to the windiness of Arthurs Pass or the steep climbing roads of the Lindis Pass. It was a childhood spent taking in the surroundings of the beautiful South Island.
