Carlos David moved to New York City from Mexico City around 11 years ago. He studied Hispanic Literature and worked as a writer but fell in love with photography while riding on the subway. Obsession kicked in when he assisted diverse fashion photographers. After a workshop with Mathew Jordan Smith he understood the value of lighting in a controlled environment and begun his own work. He considers himself a self-taught photographer but has learned from many colleagues along the way. His passion for taking portraits evolved into collaborations with fashion and business magazines. This lead into becoming a Fashion Photography and Lighting for portraits teacher at Photouno in 2014. He does regular work as E-commerce and connected with Modeling Agencies. Since 2015 he photographs artists for Friends of the High Line promotional materials.
Curiosity pushed him to create PERSONAE in 2016.
