About Carolina Valero Maestre
A graduate in Philosophy, specialised in aesthetics. She is a multidisciplinary artist from Madrid, Spain, using photography, words, video installation, drawing and etching. Her work is around the relationship between the natural and the cultural, understanding art as resilience and sentimental education. Art is a way to translate possibilities, ‘potencies’ for freedom, and therefore, a source of political resilience to transit between natural and cultural. Her work is an investigation of concepts and a living reflection.
Etching works at the Círculo de Bellas Artes as well as exhibiting at Galería de Arte y Desarrollo on an LGBT topic exhibitions, both in Madrid. In the UK she has exhibited at Chapel Walk (Sheffield, UK) in August 2018. She has been one of the curators for an international project led by Museo La Neomudejar June 2019. As well as The Print Swap in New York Root Studios December 2019 and a joint portrait exhibition at Blank Gallery (Athens) in November 2020. She lives and works between UK and Spain.
