About Céline Théret

Born in 1973 in Paris, French living since 1997 in Munich, I have been photographing since I was 15. It has always been a love story between photography and me. After studying in a business school in Paris, moving to Munich, working there 15 years in Marketing, and having 2 kids I started as a freelance family and portrait photographer in 2011. During all that time, I was working in parallel on personal projects .

My pictures are never premeditated. They are always spontaneous. I stroll, I look, I observe, and when a motif speaks to me, when the decisive moment presents itself, I take the photo spontaneously, instinctively, with both eye and heart. The eye sees and the heart decides to capture the shot because the moment is right.

Lines, geometric shapes, and striking silhouettes always catch my eye. I see them everywhere I look. I'm drawn to geometric patterns, but I also love watching people move through these shapes. Using black and white photography helps me highlight these lines and forms. It removes distractions, making the viewer focus on the shapes and people within these geometric spaces.
