Chae is an artist and professional photographer renowned for her evocative documentary essays and portraits. She was born in Glasgow Scotland and immigrated to the US as a young girl. While in college she took a photography class. She fell in love with photography and never looked back. Immediately after graduation she moved to South Africa and worked for six riveting years as a human rights documentary photographer for numerous nongovernmental agencies. Upon returning to the states Chae attained a MFA degree at RIT and moved to NYC. Chae currently lives and works in New York City. She is continuing her long term documentary and portrait projects.
