I am a self taught photographer entering my 22nd year in business. I started at 30 years old and now at 52 and working just as much as ever...
I made it through the film to digital transition and have supported myself and a son through this amazing career. I never knew I would become a photographer, but the signs were always there. I never thought I would survive being a single mom from day #1, but but I did.
I tell younger people to watch everything they do as a seemingly meaningless job will teach you a great skill to use in the future. Every job I ever did relates directly to the success of my business.
I had never submitted a photo anywhere other than to a client, this is a bit uncomfortable for me. This is my second submission to Lens Culture. A friend suggested it, he has done it several times. We both learned so much reading the comments you sent back to him. Thank you in advance.
