About Christopher Coughlan

I am not young, but I am new to photography.

Actually, I became interested in photography as a teenager. I took lots of pictures, but never really studied the craft. In college, I began studying film and video and subsequently spent a period of time making and exhibiting a few short film and video art works and teaching part-time at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Then I stopped. Needing to earn a living, I nurtured a career in the commercial and industrial side of film and video production, and in the process, forsook making art. That was 40 years ago.

Now I’m back and exploring photography (the digital version) as a means of creative expression. I have been making photographs over the past 3-4 years.
