About Cristiana Cappelletti

I am an Italian visual artist based in England, where I have lived for 28 years. I hold a BA (Hons) degree in Photography completed in England. My practice spans photography, zine-making, book works, exhibitions, and curating, documenting emotions and places through autobiographical and observational projects.

I am inspired by the stories of life and the vulnerability and resilience of the human mind. My work explores emotions, trauma, and personal histories, including depression, emotional scars, and experiences of abuse, often combining photography, zines, books, and poetry to frame what is already there. I am drawn to subjects that fit my narrative — found objects, abandoned places, and recurrent subjects — translating what I observe into images, words, and books.

Alongside my photographic work, I co-write and illustrate children’s books. My first children’s book was published by Pegasus Publishers.
