Dale Sparage was born in Detroit Michigan. In 1991 she received a MFA in painting and is currently working on an MFA in Photography at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her ongoing work on photographing women and the changing ideals and definitions of beauty and gender-identity has been exhibited at The Jewish Museum in Detroit, Michigan, and the Toledo Museum of Art. In 2001 she was runner-up in Photo District News magazine Digital Imaging Contest for her personal work ‘Portraits of Women; Returning The Gaze.” She currently lives and works in San Francisco, California.
