I was born in Los Angeles. My father was an Architect and his family was from Mexico. My mother was a teacher and was born in Brooklyn. One could say I'm a "kosher-tamale" because we celebrated everything... In school I was not very good at anything but always loved design and the way things looked. I took a photo class in high school and loved it. Though I really wasn't shooting much beyond our assignments. After high school I went to a few junior colleges, then SFSU and then transferred to The Art Center College of Design where I essentially flunked out after seeing The Americans by Robert Frank. From that moment on, all I did was shoot and print. I lived in the darkroom and didn't care about any other classes. All of my clothing smelled like D76 and I loved it. For the last 25 years I've been at it non-stop... Ido hope one day I'm lucky enough to show my work and see what people think. But I shoot for myself and that's what keeps me going :)
