After I graduated from the Royal College of Art in the early 1990s my photography focussed on attempting to document places, cultures and communities. Over time, I've come to understand that I'm as interested in the formal and aesthetic qualities of these images as I am in their social meaning. I've come to realise that the starting point for my photographs is less important than the formal connections I make between otherwise, or apparently, unrelated people, places or objects. My work has been shown in galleries in the UK, Asia and Europe and I've shot fashion, design and editorial projects for many different clients.
