About Dina Faye Gilmore

When I was a little girl, I dreamt of being an artist for Walt Disney. Life circumstances took a different turn and I gave my deepest dreams up. However, my regret for not finishing college grew stronger. I decided to return in my mid 40’s, retired from 20 years as a massage therapist, and took the leap of faith in myself. I fell in love with learning photography in ART 139 (Digital Photography I) and used extra electives for photography and filmmaking. I live for being behind the lens to capture visual stories in the digital media realms. I have been a writer since I was 7 and now I have an added artistic expression that allows me to expand. My inspirations are Dorothea Lange, Vivian Maier, Carrie Mae Weems, Diane Arbus, and Mary Ellen Mark. These women inspired me to excel by embracing my own storytelling abilities in a new artist medium that provides fantastic self-expression. My original dream is altered based on this new found love. I virtually graduated from college May 2020 due to the pandemic and put my reimagined dreams into action. I created my own production company for filmmaking, photography, and screenwriting as they all paint a picture that flows from a page to the screen. I feel a deep sense of fulfillment behind the lens capturing images of expression into visual art. I believe I was birthed from my mothers womb to create and plopped right onto the canvas of life to become a visionary healer. Thank you, Momma!
