About Douglas Powell
I am a lifelong photographer who has had the good fortune to take photos in many far-flung countries throughout the world. Unable to travel due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I took up portraiture photography. Photography is my fifth career. I have practiced law 41 years as an attorney in Atlanta in the law firm, Hinton & Powell. I was a classically trained sous chef at Au Pied de Cochon, Hotel Intercontinental, Atlanta, Ga. I am a retired Naval officer in the U.S. Navy. I hold an advanced certificate in Wines & Spirits from WSET and taught introduction to fine wines at the Art Institute of Atlanta, International School of Culinary Arts. I am concerned with justice, racial equality, wildlife preservation, food sustainability, protection of the environment, and all cultures rich and poor.
