Efi Laskari is a visual artist that has been born and raised in Athens, Greece. In 1993 she completed her studies in Greek Literature at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA). She has also participated in the annual e-learning program of EKPA "Special Education". She is an editor of texts and a content writer for scientific essays.
Also, since 2019, she is a student at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA), in the field of Painting. Her love for photography was cultivated in the ASFA photography lab. She has participated in many group art exhibitions and has been awarded at international photography festivals. Her work has been published in important photography and art magazines and sites. In 2022, she had the honor of being among the first six candidates to be distinguished, and her work was presented on the Podium of the 8th international competition "Explore outside the Box" of the Institut Francais du Design that took place at Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles.
Painting, photography, and video art are her way of exploring things and events as well as posing questions to herself about how this world could be a better place for all of us. She is very interested in the dark periods of world history and she believes that deep research can offer us an opportunity not to repeat mistakes of the past. She is also too much concerned with the idea of threat that runs through all of her work: the fear of losing identity, of losing freedom, of losing life.
