Fran Gormley is a New England based photographer. She spent a significant portion of her childhood on welfare and was determined to break the poverty cycle. In 2006, Fran did her first aerial photography shoot and since then has been fascinated with the unusual perspective an aerial vantage point provides. She is particularly interested in exploring photography's shifting relationship to painting and sculpture. Gormley's focus in on capturing the dreamlike point at which reality becomes abstraction.
