I have worked for 31 years as a documentary film maker for the News Department of Israel's public Television. When I retired in 2012 I left behind almost a thousand feature stories and films covering topics ranging from the plight of the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories to the joy of bird watchers following the migration of cranes in northern Israel. There were profiles of Israeli Prime Minister Arik Sharon, of American violinist Isaac Stern and of British physicist Steven Hawking. The list goes on and on.
I was given my first camera when I was ten years old and became the unofficial photographer of the Class of 65. (This gives away my age - 72). My interest in documenting life around me with a Zorky 4 camera probably led me to a career in journalism. I hope I bring the same intensity to my work as a semi professional photographer as I did for many years to my work as a TV journalist.
