Photography gives me something we all search for, a sense of purpose a sense of direction and equally important, fulfilment. When I have a camera in my hands I change, I become focussed and quiet, I feel content.
The camera helps me to see and know things better, I slow down, and I look for clarity. It makes me notice the usual and unusual which otherwise I would have walked quickly past. It helps me to communicate with people where in other circumstances there would have been silence.
I am a better person because of photography. And today perhaps the camera leads me into places I would not have gone before, enriching my experience and knowledge.
The camera and photography challenges me every day to become better and see better – I can think of nothing more important to do.
