About Gary Nicholls

I first encountered photography at the age of three, when my father introduced me to the world of the darkroom, but after a 30 year break, I got back into photography in 2007. In September 2012 I bought tickets for the Lincoln Steampunk Festival at the Asylum, and I knew I had found my niche………..
The idea of “The Imaginarium” was born from that festival, and the fantastic bunch of people that form “the Cast”. Late night phone calls, secret facebook groups, clandestine meetings, trips to New York, clambering through old buildings, jumping out of the car camera in hand, because I have spotted just the right tree, all have become "the norm". The Imaginarium has taken over my life, but it is not my day job, it is, however, a life defining project.
