About Geralyn Shukwit

Geralyn Shukwit is an artist whose work explores the relationship between people and the environmental landscape. Her long-term photography projects span from New York to Brazil, where she intimately reveals connections through her visual approach of blending documentary and fine art photography.

She has exhibited in the United States, Spain and Ethiopia; published in National Geographic, Progresso Fotografico, BIG Magazine, Edge of Humanity and by Blue Sky Gallery. She is a winner of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award, Photolucida Critical Mass Top 50, AI/AP Latin American Fotografîa, APA/NY and International Photography Awards (IPA) and was nominated for the Henri Cartier-Bresson Award. In the fall of 2024 she will spend two months in Bahia as a resident of the Sacatar Foundation.
