My background is in dentistry, public health, and soil science. Admiration of the work of pinhole photographer/printmaker Sarah VanKeuren launched me into my photographic career, initially using self-made large format pinhole cameras, then transitioning to various format lens cameras. I have always produced my own black-and-white silver-gelatin prints. An initial rapturous interest in landscape has shifted over time to production of abstract, even minimalist imagery in the studio.
