Since age fourteen, I've been inspired to create characters for 'self'-portraiture, incorporating very basic costume, makeup, wigs and props, done quickly. It remains my most passionate hobby, inspired primarily by influences from my youth; musicians, movies, books, glamour, humour, Bowie and Hurrell. The resulting work is my creative reaction to these various eras, styles, and moods. Over time I have found myself getting progressively more excited to 'see who will show up for my shoots'.
From 2012-2020 I used a point and shoot Canon S110, entirely handheld, for each of my projects. In 2021, I made the move to DSLR and tripod with a Canon 80D and remote. It is this latest iteration I include here.
