About Helene Hermans

hélène hermans (nl – academy of fine arts and design maastricht) as a visual artist focuses on projects that explore the field where photography and installation get entangled. the photos are her visual interpretations of the interaction between man and nature. an ultimate way of showing a little bit of herself from a hidden position in the world, from which she can observe in peace.
hermans works can be described as visual poetry, poems made visual. images that complement what words cannot say. moments caught in the pause between two sentences. ‘like something almost being said’, as poet philip larkin put it in his poem the trees. visual registrations of silent memories that make us realize that nothing disappears without a trace.
