My calm, minimalist work explores the subtle shapes and shadings of the natural world. I prefer to photograph in solitude, in subdued light, immersed in the sights, sounds, and scents of nature. My photographs distill these sensations and observations. The expressive simplicity of artists like Hiroshi Sugimoto, Claude Monet, Mark Rothko and James Turrell has been an important influence on my work.
I live and work in San Francisco. I have exhibited both in solo and group shows at City College of San Francisco’s Gallery Obscura, in a group show at RayKo Photo Center in San Francisco and in a group show at the Midwest Center for Photography in Wichita, Kansas. In 2019 I was accepted as a member of San Francisco’s City Art cooperative gallery.
