Over the years, Ilias has created work exploring themes of racial identity, the North-African diaspora, connection, memory, and belonging. With a background in photography his journey through lens-based work has evolved into a critical examination of the tool he uses, while simultaneously protecting, centralize & celebrate the complexities of the North-African identities. By utilizing the medium to reflect on culture and collective memory, his objective is to present different perspectives that challenge the dominant colonial narratives shaped by modern society.
