Ivan Rupeš is a Toronto-based documentary photographer. He was born in what is now Czech Republic to a family with a long photographic heritage. After obtaining a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences his research career brought him first to the USA and then to Canada. Currently he is a photographer with a range of interests from sports (mainly cycling) to capturing stories both from Canada and around the world focusing mostly on the intricacies of our relationship with the environment we live in, alter, and are altered by in return.
