About Jack Garland

Jack Garland is a Colorado-born, Chicago-based photographer. With no formal schooling background, Jack has spent the last 10 years photographing across America and its diverse landscapes. His work is a personal exploration of his own place in the ever-growing American hellscape, and the fleeting beauty that can be found creeping up from the cracks. If there's one idea in Jack's work that he clings to, it's the mantra: "There is hope beyond the mess." Jack is currently preparing for his first photo book, "Waco," published through Brad Feuerhelm's "Nearest Truth Editions" this September. Additionally, Jack has had work exhibited in Chicago, Detroit, Athens Greece, and St. Louis.
