Born In Somerset, UK, Jamie McGregor Smith began his photographic studies while at college in Kent. After graduating in photography from Staffordshire University, his degree show ‘social Entropy’, a project that documented the crumbling remains of the once international British potteries industry, was featured by the Guardian Magazine.
His personal projects have documented the fall of Detroit city, the abandonment of Athens Olympic stadiums, ecological battles in eastern Europes ancient forests and industrial landscapes in northern England’s contracting industrial belt.
