Jason Tannen is an artist, photographer, gallery curator and educator. He has exhibited his works widely in the United States and internationally, with recent exhibitions in Sacramento, CA, Las Vegas, NV, New York, San Francisco, Portland, OR and Budapest, Hungary.
Tannen is represented in many public collections, including the Bay Area Video Coalition Media Library, San Francisco, CA; the Chicago Art Institute, Chicago, IL; the Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, CA; and The National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artists Fellowship Archive, Washington, D.C.
He received his MFA in Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA.
From 1998 to 2014, he directed the University Art Gallery at California State University, Chico, where he also taught Gallery Production, Film Studies, and the History of Photography. Prior to that, he was the Director of the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery.
