About JB Nearsy Wright

J.B. (Jared Blaine) Nearsy Wright is a largely self-taught, postdisciplinary artist and writer working and living in St. Louis, Missouri. His first lessons with art as an immersive experience were learned through graffiti in Southern California. Graffiti art taught the artist lessons unique to the contemporary movement such as color relationships, abstraction within set parameters, and painting on a large scale. These learning experiences continue to indirectly shape and influence his work to this day.

After a university career that began in art, Wright moved on to receive degrees in psychology and accounting. He continued creating art on commission, for sale, and for exhibits over the span of his college life and 6 years following as an accountant.

Wright made the transition to an artist by profession in 2015. Within a few months, he was part of a group exhibition with original works in St. Louis, and began building a network of friends and mentors who would help cultivate his art and opportunities.

Wright has exhibited widely across the United States, as well as internationally.
