Jennifer Loomis is an award-winning photojournalist, fine-art Photographer, artist, and educator known for her groundbreaking work with the pregnant nude. Her first book, Portraits of Pregnancy: The Birth of a Mother (Sentient, 2009) coincided with a retrospective of her work in Perugia, Italy.
Jennifer holds an MA in photojournalism from the University of Missouri, School of Journalism. She was a Visual Communications Fellow and Faculty Member at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies. She taught photography at the University of Missouri, the University of Washington, Seattle Central Community College, was a
guest teacher at the Frye Art Museum’s Women and the Arts Program, and The Los Angeles Center of Photography.
Her photography has been in numerous books and featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, Seattle Times, and on CNN, ABC, and NPR. Jennifer has photographed more than four thousand women and their families worldwide, including celebrities, politicians, musicians, and Fortune 500 executives.
