Joël Bénard has been a commercial photographer for more than 30 years, photographing portraits, still life, and locations for advertising agencies, graphic design firms, and corporations. For the past 20 years, he has taught at Ryerson University, Toronto and Sheridan College, Oakville. He is interested in exploring ideas and issues involving personal identity construction, representation, the arts and technology, all through the photographic portrait. Joël holds a BAA in Photography from Ryerson University and an MA in Communication and Culture from York University.
